Not covered (AHP, KOM). Hazards and/or side effects not known for proper therapeutic dosages (PH2) (but PH2 designates no specific quantified dosage! Nor do I (JAD)). Pungent principles may irritate gastric and urinary tracts (PH2). High oxalic content of the seed may induce cardiopathy
(WO2). Antimalarial tests proved negative (UPW). Abreu and Noronha (1997) remind us that the pungent (spicy) principles have antifeedant, antischistosomal, antiseptic, antitermite, and molluscicidal properties.
