Contraindications, Interactions, and Side Effects (Bee Balm):
- None reported (PHR). Class 2b; emmenagogue/uterotonic (AHP). AHP assigns this caveat indiscriminately to M. clinipodia, M. didyma, M. fistulosa, M. pectinata, and M. punctata. The PHR notes antipyretic, antispasmodic, carminative, digestive, and diuretic effects, and use for dyspepsia, dysmenorrhea, and flatulence (PHR).
